Education as a Tool for Change in Addressing Social Issues

Abstract

Education is essential for humans to develop their potential, broaden their horizons, interact with others, prepare for the future, and shape their personality and character. This is what makes education a solution to social problems and to the challenges faced by humans as social beings. Education is defined by the teaching-and-learning process; human curiosity is inextricably linked to all issues within the social sphere. Education plays a role in solving social problems. Education plays a role in solving social problems, as it is an activity capable of developing human creativity to the level of the soul, thereby shaping character. This paper attempts to offer solutions on how these social problems can be minimized and reduced through the application of education. The research method used in this study is qualitative, with data collected from descriptive analyses, literature reviews, journals, and the internet. The results of this study indicate that the solution to social problems lies in an education grounded in religious values. Education is also greatly influenced by sound educational concepts in the development of the curriculum and the educational system, which are implemented through values that are instilled indirectly.
